A tribute To Our Mentors
They help us grow, guide us from who we are to whom they KNOW we can become.
Well, It’s the end of August, another summer gone. What a fantastic summer it was. It was my first summer where I was able to work from home in this wonderful industry of Network Marketing. It was a summer that I had the privilege of meeting some awesome new friends full of dreams, hope, desire, inspiration, and commitment. It was a summer that brought us a new family member … our little puppy, Casey. And it was a summer where on my blog we focused a little on Leadership and what becoming a leader in this industry and in life really means.
In my last article I had said that I wanted to move on from the topic of leadership and cover other areas relating to Network Marketing and Personal Growth. But before I do I realized that there was one more thing that I had to do. One more experience which I needed to share. One more person that you needed to meet.
You see every single one of us in this industry has mentors. Mentors, many of them leaders in their own right, have personal experience and wisdom and they are willing to share their knowledge freely with others to have a positive impact on another persons life. Most of us will have more then one mentor. Just like in school, we all had more then one teacher. We had a teacher for Math. We had a teacher for History. We had a teacher for Music, and another for English. We all learned something very different from each teacher didn’t we. Well, the same goes for our teachers … our “mentors” in this industry. I learned about blogging from Peter Chapman. I learned about Affiliate marketing and Social Media Marketing from Chris Farrell. They all taught me something different. I continue to learn from each of them and I am extremely grateful for the knowledge and the understanding that was passed on from them to me.
But, (I know I started a sentence with but, forgive me English teacher,) there was one mentor that changed my life. One person who is partly responsible for me living the lifestyle which I now live. One person who changed my way of thinking and therefore changed the way in which I live. I think that if we all look deep into ourselves we all have someone like that don’t we.
One person … who we “got,” we “understood,” we could … “relate” to.
For me that person is George Zalucki. He holds a top position in my primary opportunity. When I went to a convention and met the man and heard him speak … that was it… it all became so clear.
“I CAN DO THIS!”
“WE CAN DO THIS!”
“YOU CAN DO THIS!”
I will never be able to pay George back for the gift that he has given me. What I can do is pay tribute to him on my blog and share his message in the hopes that it may change some of your lives too.
So I am about to share with you some of George’s teachings on “the power of mindset.” I wanted to find some of his videos which didn’t mention my primary opportunity because that’s not what this article is about. That’s not what his message is about. Now you may catch a glimpse of my company in the background, just ignore that and listen to the message. Each of the two videos are about 8 minutes each. Watch them both. Watch them alone or with your wife and children but make sure there is no distraction. Watch the videos full screen and turn up the volume so that you’re not straining to hear a single word. Then, … watch them again.

Now Here Is My Call To Action!
In the comment section below, either in the Facebook comment section or in the regular comment section I want to hear about YOUR Mentor. The one mentor who changed your life. How do you choose? That’s easy. You’ll know if you have your top mentor if when you think of him or her your eyes get a little wet. You get a little knot in your throat. You’ll hear their message in you mind as if it were just given to you yesterday … even if it’s been years because the message has become a part of who you are, not just words expressing who you could become. When you can feel this strong avalanche of emotion come over you then you will have found your mentor.
Now it’s time to pass the torch. It’s time for you to share the message that changed your life.
In the Month of September, every Sunday, I would love to have a guest poster pay tribute to their mentors as I have done today. Include pictures and video if you wish. Share their stories, their message, and their personal impact on your life. I would also really appreciate it if you would share this article with anyone who you feel it may benefit by clicking on any of those cute little “Like” and “Share” buttons below. Thanks so much!

The value of a good mentor is immeasurable when it comes to learning the tricks of the trade as well as becoming connected to those in the know and possess the ability to hire. And a successful mentor demonstrates and upholds the values and ethics of the profession they represent. So, it’s really a good thing to give them tribute as it is one way to show them that they are important and loved.

Kevin,
These are some fantastic videos! George definitely has his act together. I noticed you learned about blogging from Pete Chapman. I visited his blog for the first time the other day. It’s great.
This business is all about helping people. If everyone mentored one person, we could change the network marketing industry. If every person mentored two people, we could change the world.
Great blog and great post.

Kevin,
Love the message. I have many people I considered mentors in my past, but the reality is I just had associates. You have been the greatest mentor by far. You are always there to help, to give words of encouragement, and you have put the excitement back into my life.

Hey Jaden,
Wow, thanks so much for those very kind words. I’m so glad that I am able to help. That’s why I love this industry so much. The fact that I am able to work full time from home is a great thing to be sure but my own personal growth that this industry fosters and the fact I get to help others … priceless.
Thanks so much for your comment Jaden, I appreciate it.

Mentors are great to have and for what he did for you is a great thing. I have this guy I that cross my life over two decades ago and what I learn from him shape me and my life to what it is today. He was my boss, but the way he lived, the way he carried himself, the way interacted with other, and the way others reponsed to him. Imprinted in my mind, that was the kind of man I was going to be. It is good to know that there are people out there that motivate other. But the one thing I learned from him is just being you, can also motivate and that is the kind of person I try to be everyday. Thanks, I really great post.

Hey Kevin,
Oh I love this topic! I didn’t even have to think about it – my #1 mentor was Michael Cairns. It’s been years since I worked with Michael at InterContinental Hotels, but what I learned from him continues to affect my life every single day.

Hi Kevin,
First of all I want to thank you for being my mentor on Blogging and helping me with my new Blog.
Well I have many mentors, but my biggest mentor is Willie Jolley from you can change your “life in one min” one of the best motivational speakers in the world. I know him now in person and it is because of him that I did go after my dream of “the Gratitude Game.” His words will be for ever in my ear after he said to my go after your dream you are sitting on something big when I did tell him in person about my game in South Africa.
Regards,
Theuns

Hey Theuns,
Thanks for returning to my blog, I love having you over!
Thanks for sharing your mentoring story starring Willie Jolley, and I’m so glad that he has had such a fantastic impact on your life! I am not that familiar with Willie so I had to look him up on UTube and watch some of his stuff. A very good speaker indeed!
Hope to see you back again soon.
